A particularly fine set of six George I period mahogany chairs. The shaped top rail above elegant pierced splat back over drop in seat standing on cabriole legs terminating in duck feet to the front and sloping legs with pad feet to the back. The generous depth of the one piece backs showing substantial cut away and waste of timber therefore indicating significant cost of manufacture but creating an extremely comfortable seat.
