A George II Period Mahogany Tripod Table With Gun Barrel Stem

The single plank tilt-top top on a birdcage mechanism, the turned gun barrel stem on generous cabriole legs with slipper pad feet. 
Of superb proportions and in excellent condition retaining the finest colour and patina. The birdcage mechanism, allowing the top to rotate, has the rare feature of the supporting columns being turned to replicate the main stem. 

It measures 31.5" wide across the grain and 32” with the grain, a sure sign as to its authenticity and age.
