The John Bly name is synonymous with the finest in antiques, decorative arts and custom made one-of-a-kind pieces. A recognition of excellence that began in the 19th century and has continued through the five generations of our family business, now run by father and son team, John and James Bly and now incorporating Studio Bly International.
An Established Reputation
Although our archives show a letterhead announcing, “John Bly – Antiques Dealers since the Reign of William IV’, it was in 1891 that the present John Bly’s grandfather formally established the business in Tring, Hertfordshire where it is still located. Since the early days, John Bly has been at the forefront of the antiques market and a leading name in the industry. A reputation we are exceptionally proud of and one that has gained us an enviable client portfolio spanning collectors, celebrated interior and landscape designers as well as some of the world’s greatest museums and stately homes.
Despite being one one of the oldest and most-well-established antiques dealerships, John Bly is also one of the most progressive and with each generation the services offered have evolved along with the expertise. The most recent addition is Studio Bly International, developed by James to offer an enhanced level of consultancy in design and sourcing for both private clients and designers around the world.
