One is for "Scotch" and the other "Canadian" and each has an engraved cartouche on the front bearing the name "Colonia".
This great yacht, built in 1893 for the America Cup, was owned and sailed by a syndicate composed of Archibald Rogers, Frederick W. Vanderbilt, William K. Vanderbilt, F. Augustus Schermerhorn, J. Pierpont Morgan, and John E. Brooks.
Designed by Herreshoff, under the supervision of John Driscoll and whose first captain was Hank Haft.
The Grandfather of a family friend sailed against the Colonia in the days of the J Class and when the Vanderbilts sold the boat and all its furnishings he purchased these two bottles, and used them!
